    need parts and fast

    Hello,

My name is Terry Hollan. We have fishing lodges in Mexico http://www.lakebaccaraclodge.com and http://www.lakehuiteslodge.com
I am currently using the E-tec 60 hps pull starts. Right now we have 4 blown power heads -cause unknown.
I am looking for a dealer in the states that can make an order of parts for me and have the parts shipped to me in Amarillo, Tx . My number is 806 359 6288. Can anyone help.

    Thanks in Advance

Sorry, I can't help you with parts, but be aware that the 60hp E-TECs in Mexico are probably not the same type 60hp E-TECs that are sold in the US. There was a special export version that uses a different EMM and does not use the water valve exhaust tuning.

Just make sure you have the serial numbers and the complete model numbers when ordering parts.

Warranty is handled thru the distributor for the country, not out of Waukegan, IL, aren't they helping out?

Well the problem with the Mexican dealers is it takes them 60 days to get parts into Mexico and I just don't have that kind of time. Dave Rumbel of BRP has been good to work with in regards to the engines failures. Currently %38 of all the E-tecs are not running. WE have a big operation running over 60 anglers a week at our lodge on Baccarac and the engine failures are really costing me a lot money and of course costing E-tecs there reputation.

I am just begging for help

    Terry

What exactly is the failure on those motors? In the states, even in heavy commercial use, there is no large number of failures like you describe. I'm curious as that is not the norm.

There is a software change that was made back in Jan. 06, has that been installed in the motors?

Not sure on the last 4 motors that failed but we had one that failed that season that had a hole in the pitson. Currently they are tearing down the 4 that have no compression.
