Any ideas?
Thanks,

Will do thanks
I also have a new 250 pro xs and experienced the same problem forward and reverse unable to get back to neutral . found that if I warm it up on the trailer before i come off it doesn't stick .
Thanks Chick!
Same problem here also 2014 250 pro xs
Only in cold weather

Me too with 225 opti. Cold mornings only. It just needs to warm up but you all know how it is at a tournament ramp in the morn. Have that kill switch string ready and in your hand because its quicker than finding the key.
Definitely agree- especially in colder weather.
A few minutes warm-up does wonders for ability to shift properly.![]()

OH I KNOW !!!! Brand new boat 2nd time in the water and I found myself heading into the ramp between the trailer and the dock. What a BUTT PUCKER MOMENT !!!!! I thought I was going to rip the shifter off
Buddy on the Ramp said the look on my face was priceless !!!!
I will now remember the rip cord ,Thank You . The key was hard to find in a panic situation but it was found and there was no damage , Custed Mercury up and down for not having a warning about this I can see there probably be a recall for this and there should be .
This is #*+#! DANGEROUS !!!
At least it is not just my engine .
The requirement to warm up the engine (before attempting to operate) has been there for many, many years.
I would not expect to see any changes in this area... and would certainly not expect to see any recalls, bulletins, or advisories, other than the information contained in the Engine Operation section of the Engine Owner's Manual.![]()
