93 Pro 168 Travis addition Loading on trailer problem.

I dont know how may boats are built like mine but it is a pain the load mine. The nose wants to ram right into the bow stop or go under it. I have attempted to load at every depth. You have to CAREFULLY pull up to the stop, jump out on the trailer, hook up the strap, squat down and push the nose up and crank at the same time. Nuttin' to it! Really fun when your by yourself. It is the original Trail Boss trailer, no adjustments and all welded. The funny thing is after you get loaded you can back of the crank strap and the keel will raise off the bow stop slightly. You can push it up by hand about three inches with very little effort. If the boat is two feet back the nose goes under the stop. Weird? I am currently fabricating a keel roller to go maybe two feet back of the bow stop. If someone is interrested I can send some pic's

I've had similar trouble with my original TrailBoss trailer. If I'm not at the perfect depth with the trailer, my bow-ring will not make it over the "V"-shaped rubber bow-stop.

But I've found through trial and error that no matter what the angle or depth of the landing may be, if I have the last 3-6" of the front bumpers out of the water, it pushes the bow up just enough to where the ring goes over the top, and the boat lands easily and correctly, every single time.

The only time I ever have to make an adjustment is if the wind skews my approach angle, or if the landing is crooked, so that the left and right side of the trailer are at different depths. Then I just nose it up, and power in whatever direction I need to to push the chines to rest on the proper place on the bunks.

mine does the same thing, when i replaced the bunker boards i left them 24" longer. that helped a bunch.. planning on putting another roller on the trailer

I have just finished fabbing a mount and 4" roller with the extra beveled pieces that makes it really about 7 or 8" wide. I think widder is better. I am going to weld it on to the trailer at aprox 45deg angle laying back, which makes it sit about 2' behind the bow stop and 10" to a foot lower. I'm banking on the keel making contact with the roller and pushing it up before the nose makes contact with the bow stop. If it works I will let you know.
