I have asked this and got mixed answers.... maybe someone will answer who has one. I have seen three in my area that are pretty close. Two have 250 SHO and one has 250XS. The two with SHO claim they have seen 82-83. The XS only had about 12 hours on it and the owner was still setting it up, but said he had seen just alittle over 80 MPH per GPS. Maybe this will help you out......give me till about mid Jan. and I will be able to tell you first hand.![]()
The biggest thing I have heard about this hull is.....that it is a pleasure to drive and a very good fishing platform, and Keith was able to maintain the speed with this hull.
The guys I have spoken with love this boat, and I dont think you can get a better boat at the price these boats are selling for. Maybe someone knows more about the speed question.

Mine got sprayed yesterday. It should come out of the mold Monday. Then rigging with 250 SHO and I'll be able to let you know what she will run. Can't wait check on it every day. If you've never watched one get made it pretty neat.
I have a friend who has 1 with a 250 pro xs and he says he has gotten 82 out of it. Kieth really out did himself with the 625. Smoother ride, more deck space, no loss of speed, and kept it affordable! Can't wait to get mine!
slow when loaded.kind look like Ranger going down lake..

Depending on load, set up, and driver, you will see 78-82. The fastest that I seen with a heavy fishing load and 2 people is 79.6 in Ken Davis' 625 with a Merc 250 Pro XS. The fastest that I have seen with a light load and 2 people is 84.1 in the orignal test boat with a 250 HPDI. Both times if we had more props to try and more st up time I could have gotten more out of both boats.
Appreciate it Jason, hope all is well with you bro

Couple more questions Jason. Knowing I am usually fishing solo, what would I expect from a good setup/prop with a yammy, black motor and an SHO? Is the SHO really worth the coin difference in your opinion? Especially knowing I love me some black mota.

Hank, since you can't get an HPDI, we don't have to worry about that one.
250 Pro XS - 80-81 solo loaded to fish with the right set up.
250 SHO - This one is a question mark but I think 80-82. I think it is the perfect motor for the 625, but I have not run one, so it is just based on what I hear about the motor. The downside is upfront price compared to the Pro XS. I would also go with a hydraulic jackplate mo matter which motor you chose.
