helping out a co-worker that just bought his first boat and it is a 202 with a brand new 200 etech, 12 inch jackplate, not sure about prop, what should i start with on prop to pad relation, the usual 3.5 below pad and work up?

I would start bout 3\4 in below and go from there. What year model is it ?
Not sure about the motor, but i ran my Yamaha 1\2 in above. Also he will need a 15 in rapid jack to get more topend.
that etecs not gona run but so high and a warning buzzer wi go off. I had one go off on z20 ranger that I was setting up. Motor wouldn't run 2 inches below the pad. I hope you don't run into that problem but i just wanted to give you a heads up to be careful.
