Leaking fuel from somewhere on the port side of the engine?

I have a 96 150, and I seem to be leaking fuel I have 2 things that I have identified one is 1 of the 4 rubber straps that holds the front of cover over the carbs is broken and causing the seal to be loose between that cover and the carbs on the port side of the engine. Also that same side seems to possibly be leaking fuel from the top of one of those black plastic looking fuel rails that feeds those 3 carbs on that side of the motor. There seems to be more fuel on that side of the motor than the other. The motor ran fine all weekend I but I did seem to use almost double the fuel as my uncle who has almost the same motor just his is a Johnson. And when I'd stop you could smell and see fuel dripping into the lake.

Would replacing the o-rings on those rails and replacing those 4 rubber straps fix the problem or could there be more to it?

The bottom airbox cover strap "could" wear on the port side recirc line to the AB but doubt it. Replace them if you feel like you need to do it. With the airbox off and the motor level on the muffs, squeeze the primer bulb and start the motor at idle and let it warm up. Once to temp see if you can prime the bulb again and look for an increase in RPM or a visable leak. Could be a stuck bowl float or a leaking carb bowl. Bad thing is on the port side you can't see if the BB in the bowl is leaking without taking off the VRO and Vapor separator (no biggie) but you will loose all your fuel pressure. Check the STBD side bowls for leaks. You will see them seeping out of the BB's on the bowls.
You can replace the O rings also, this is one of them where the Tech has to see it and the I-net makes it tough to prescribe a fix.
