Where to start?

97 202 with manual 10"inch JP. Added 5 1/2" hyd. plate to manual. Mounted motor on 3rd hole from top. hole shot not that great. Should i mount motor lower? Should i level out manual plate and then start? Is there any difference where manual plate height?
How would you start from scratch to set-up this configuration?

Try lowering it on the manual plate first and keep a close eye on , holeshot, handling and bowlift as well as top speed while raising the electric plate as well, until you get to feel that it is giving you the best overall performance... good luck...
