    Hamby's

Does anyone have a Hamby's keel protector on a Blazer? I was thinking of putting one on my new Blazer and was curious about the Original Hamby's, Hamby's light duty, and Keel Shield. I know the Hamby's light duty and the Keelshield you can install yourself but are they durable? I'm not going to park my boat on the concrete every weekend when I can park on the grass or sand next to the ramp but I want it to be protected if I do. I am sure they aren't as good as the original Hamby's but a lot cheaper and I don't have an installer close by.

I had a Keelshield on mine. It worked just fine...no problems.

I installed the Hambys light duty on the last two Blazers I've had.My father has a keelshield on his 202, and they both work very well. The key to making sure they stay on is in preparing the hull and making sure the hull is good and clean before you put them on.

I installed a Keel Shield last year on my 202. Very easy and works great.

I've got the hamby's heavy duty. Lots of the ramps I use have no courtesy dock, so I just bump up on the ramp. I have been in another boat when one of the other brands came loose. It was dealer installed so I can't talk to the quality of prep. We were just running down the lake, and though we had hit a small log in the water. It was the rubber smacking the lower unit on it's way...

This is my second boat with the heavy duty. Price compared to what I spent on the boat, it's worth it to me
