    Gel-coat repair?

Hey Guys, Has anyone every had to have the entire "underside" of their boat re-surfaced? After 3 years of stump jumping and hitting sandbars, the bottom is looking pretty bad. Just looking for some guess'es on how much something like that would run.
    Thanks!

    Re: Gel-coat repair? (Dex202)

Luke over on the Champion board wondered that same thing. So, he took his new Champion out and ran it up on a gravel bar and messed it up from the front to the back. I'll see if I can round him up and get him to chime in on this since he has first hand experience.

Todd may also comment on it, but part of his answer is going to include "The cost will all depend on how bad the damage is and how good you want it done. We're only going to do it right, so that only leaves the question as to how bad the damage is."

C&O has one of the best fiberglass shops in the country (the best in my opinion).

The Damage isn't that bad. Just looks bad ! I've hit a few fence post (using the trolling motor) that left some deep scratches, about 10 nice long lines, along the bottom. With as bas as it looks, the damage hasn't effected top end.

ok ill put my .02 in
yea yea thanks for the help Jason
mine had the entire bottom of the hull redone as well as the LU replaced with the prop

on the Fiberglass work i think mine was a little over 9K to have it all done the big motor had to come off as well as they had to take the seats out and gas tank and turn the whole boat up on its side........i think there was like 80 some hours worth of work envolved in it took right at 2 months to get the boat back but it took almost 3 weeks of that 2 months waition on the LU from Yamaha

mine looked like brand new again when i got it back

Thanks Luke. Hated to call you out, but I knew you had some experience with it.

    Dex,

Here's what his boat looked like before it was repaired.

Oops, I meant to put a disclaimer up above it for you to turn away from the monitor as the following images may bring feelings of sickness.

    Sorry.

I can't remember the place but it's in Texas and they put something called a gorrilla hull. It's designed to withstand the stump field of Toledo Bend and Rayburn. Their work is garranteed for life I think.

1niceBlazer, Wow!! Mine looks nothing like that. I was feeling sorry for myself until I saw your pic's. The bottom is white so that should help on the cost. Anyway, I'll let ya know how things turn out!
    Thanks,

I started to point that out, but I figured you'd be back on this thread to check out the pics again. You just can't stay away from them.
