    Negative Trim?

I have a 2005 Lund Mr. Pike powered by a 2006 90 E-Tec. The E-Tec has three holes in the transom bracket. When the pin is in the first hole (hole closest to the transom) the motor has a negative trim. Is there every any reason to run with the motor tucked in? I was always under the impression that the shaft of the outboard should be as near to perpendicular to the water line as possible when the boat is moving at idle.

Nice boat package! the slight negitive trim is to add the boat to get on plane(add's lift) but if you are idling along trim where you like, perpendicular or trimed up dew to shallow water's

I always thought that negative trim causes the bow of the boat to plow. I guess you learn something new every day!

Yes, it could cause the bow to plow but that is why it is power trim & why there are a few holes for the limiter pin. If you have a kid or person that uses the boat but never trims it up then raise the pin. We would not what any E-tec Powered SUBs.
