    '98 Blazer 202

    Hi all,

I'm in the market for a new boat and am looking at a '98 202 with a 200hp Yamaha carb motor. Is there anything I should be aware of when looking at this rig? I'm moving up from a 17' nitro so this could be fun :)

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Welcome to the boards! You'll find a lot of information here that will help you out.

As to the boat you're looking at, it's eight, and now almost nine years old. Walk around behind the boat with the motor tilted up and grab the foot of the motor. Lift up and down (hard) and see if you notice any flex inthe transom. That is the only thing I would worry about. Otherwise, if it's in good shape, the motor does a good compression check, and the price is right, jump on it and hang on. The 202 is a blast to drive.
