vlx setup ge blazer or anyone

i have a vlx blazer before today it was 4 1/2 below the pad 65-67-70mph
depending on traffic (when at these top speed,s my chinewalk is sometimes still
    uncontrollable) running a 25'' lazer 2 prop 5900 rpm,s

today i raised my motor 3 1/2 below the pad the boat felt like it wanted to slip a bit comeing out of the hole after breaking plane i started bumping the trim
i got the boat running flat 55 mph 56-5700 rpm,s i bumped the trim again to get the boat out of the water and my water pressure dropped which before it was 10-12 psi

so what do ya think ( will a better prop make this setup work )
is the 25'' lazer 2 that bad of a prop Any advice PLEASE

I really can't help with your set up, but I have a 190 Prov Blazer with a 175 Johnson and I run it even-1/4" above pad depending on load, my boat is bad a slipping on break over, I think that is just the nature of them, I haven't been around any other blazer's though.

Not all that familiar with the VLX, but your motor sounds like it's too low. Laser II is a decent prop for some boats, but I don't like them on a Blazer. I assume you have a Merc, so i would find a TXP or a Tempest to run on it. Blazenmuskey can probably help you out with setting that boat up. Drop him an IM.

yeh, but chris we got low water pickups. what motor are you running? from what you said about your h2o dropping I'd say you were too high. do you have a jackplate on it? if so what setback is it? your speed sounds like it's right on along with your rpms. as far as chinewalk, you could try a 4 blade prop like a Trophy Plus
but I see where you went up a whole inch right off the bat, knock it back down 1/4" and see if it's better, if not knock it down another 1/4" until it rides like you want it too. but remember the chine walk isn't gonna totally disappear, you are gonna have to learn to "drive" through it.hope that helps some.........Hank

Hank is right about the 1/4" at a time I would take it back to where you had it and raise it 1/4 at a time until you lost water pressure. You could also plug the top couple of holes or add scoops on the inlets so you can raise it more,

Re: vlx setup ge blazer or anyone (wiggleworm)

Wiggleworm i've got a VLX150 with a 150Mariner on a 10"jp, running a wornout 26p laser II at 2 3/4" below pad that gps's at 66.4 with 12-15psi,still working on setup. I talked to David at Blazer a little back and "he suggested around 11/2"below pad".Also I had a 5"jp and going to 10" helped out chime and topend. Hope this helps out a little

Re: vlx setup ge blazer or anyone (highsmithv)

I messed up (im a dummy)

it was such a cold day here yesterday my measurements were wrong

today i went out and remeasured in a level place for sure and i was 2'' below the pad i have a strong feeling that,s why the boat wouldnt perform

so now i am going to set it at 3'' below and try it from there THEN make my small corrections like i should have been doing all along
