Speed and chine walk on 2005 Blazer 202...?

Hi again Blazer experts. I finely got to run my Blazer at lower alt. 550 feet for a few days on a large lake. I was running a 25txp ( i left the 27 sitting in the garage 300 miles away ) Top speed was over 76 gps and rpms were at 6100 +. Best speed so far. Im sure i could have got a bunch more with the other prop.
Anyway the boat would start to chine walk bad at about 65 gps in smooth water. It did not do this in chop or rough water. It also did not chine walk were i use it most of the time 4000 to 7000 feet on smooth water. Boat was heavy, full tanks, full live well,15 rods,2 ankers, more tackle than anyone needs. I weigh 200 and my partner weighs 230. Most i have had in boat so far. Not sure if was the weight or higher rpms or what, but it wasent fun.

    Thanks for any input

My initial thought is the motor was too low in the water. The additional weight may have put too much boat in the water. Try raising it up 1/2" and see what happens. The 27 does sound like it would have been the better prop for that situation. Next time, leave one anchor at home and use the spare prop if necessary!

The higher you can raise the motor, the easier it will drive. Raise it as high as you can get it and still be able to maitain bow lift and water pressure with you normal load. After that, have the prop tuned. That's almost all that can be done, the rest is in your hands. all boats chine walk, you must learn to drive thru it. It will chinewalk more in slick water cause it creates more drag.

Im even with the pad and have 18 pounds water pressure at wide open. It goes to 0 at idle.

Chad's right about all boats chinewalk. Some more than others (Triton). Others chinewalk just because of the lightness of the boat and it just requires more driver input (Bullet). The Blazer is a driver's boat to an extent, but when properly setup can be driven by a youngster. 18 lbs is plenty of water pressure. I'd try raising it 1/4-1/2" and see if it holds 18 lbs. You will have very little (practically 0) water pressure at idle. WOT is where you need the pressure.

    What motor are you running?

As far as all boats chinwalk that is only true in two cases! first is the boat is not set up right or the driver does not have a clue on how to drive.
I have had a lot of boats and the hardest to drive was a procraft superpro 200 but I could still drive with one hand. I have had a blazer 19 proV which was a great boat and a ease to drive. The bullet that I have now is by far the best driving boat that I have had.
My nephew had a TR21 with an XB on back and you could take both hands off the steering wheel and the boat would track straight as an arrow!

So get the rig set up and some seat time and you will find that the boat does not have any chimwalking in it!!!

    Just my .02 worth!!

Its a 225hpdi VMAX. The set up is great for most situations, top speed with the right prop at the right alt. is great. I will be the first to admit that i do not have a clue on how to drive through chinwalk. Sounds like this happened becuse of the extra weight and eng hight for that situation and not just the lower pitched prop.
    Thanks
