    Idea

Are most pump out switches for the livewells located at the console?

How about locating a second switch near the splashwell enabling you to fill your tournament bag and shutting off the pumpout from right there? Keep the one at the console as well.

Im not sure why I thought about this last night but while laying in bed I was thinking how I could switch mine back to gravity flow as well as still have my pumpout. Mine was switched to pumpout only but it always leaves about an inch of water in the wells. I'm afraid of transporting ANS so I need to figure out a way to switch it back.

I like the idea. However it would NEED to be a very watertight / high quality switch.

my opinion thats a really good idea Jack. like on my old PII it has the 2 switch panel in the rear for light and trim and both my switches work fine...wouldnt be that hard to do at all

    Re: Idea (H2O_Fowl)

I like the idea, but am trying to figure out its practicality, most folks use the pump out to fill their weigh in bag whether the boat is in the water or on the trailer. They then turn around and grab their fish out of the live well, all this is generally done from inside the boat, when they leave the boat to go weigh their fish, turn the switch off and your done and the console is only about 6.5 feet from the back of the boat, or 3 feet from the livewell which is where you go next after filling your bag, so that takes maybe an extra 2-5 seconds to turn it on/off there. Once your ready to trailer the boat home reach over the side gunnel and rotate the lever from auto to empty and let the remaining water drain out via gravity (as the pump out feature wont get it it all out anyway so this must still be done).

Ya I hear you. I just thought it would be cool to be able to flip the switch at the back, fill your bag, switch it off from right there and head to weigh in without even having to go to the console.

    Re: Idea (Bass Cat Boats)

I didn't see anything that directly relates to what I have going on. I think what the previous owner did was add another drain on the rear of the boat up where the bilge water would come out. So there are now 3 drains holes up there. I think he may have used the area inside the gunnel below the throttle (where I assume the original lever was to either pull out or push in to either drain or keep livewells full by opening or closing the flapper) to place the on off switch for the pump out. Am I making sense so far? I'd love to be able to keep the pumpout option but also have the ability to drain all the water out of my livewells.

I guess what I really need to do is do some digging to see exactly what he has done. He mentioned he did this when I bought which I thought was a great idea until I realized all the water would not pump out of the livewells. And with the new laws in KS I'll be in violation if I can't get all the water out.

Doing what I do for a living it probably wouldn't look good for me to be getting a ticket.
