I'm betting you need a ram mount. If you remove the windshield, should be no problem without a ram, but it will most likely be angled due to the rounded for the flasher and the "step" from the right to the left. I've got a 96 Eyra and had a 97 Pantera II and thought about putting an 800 on the Eyra console. Good luck.

This is the way I mounted my 798 on my '95 PII. You would probably need the ram mount as stated to avoid the rounded area of the in-dash flasher.

This is how I mounted my 858 on my 96 P2.

What size ball did you go with on the grab rail? And what brand is it. I have the smaller 111? ram mount on my Skeeter and in rough water, my graph moves around so I want to goto the bigger size before I put it on my Basscat.
I went with the 1.5" ball. (Ram 111U) I havnt had any problems with my unit moving around. Just go to lowes and get some 1" SS U-bolts (they had to be opened a little wider to fit the bolt pattern on the ram) I also got some clear rubber tubing to put around the U-bolts so they do not move on the grab rail.

Thanks for the help. When I get it all mounted up, I will post some pics.
I don't have any pictures but back in the day when I had my '92 & '96 PII's I mounted the bigger graphs on a aluminum plate to set them back farther to clear the windshield. Mounted plate to top of console and then mounted graph to plate to sit the graph back a couple of inches..
