Is my line ethanol compliant? (pic)

My big line from the tank to the bulb has the j1527 stamp which I searched and supposedly that is ok, but what about the small line and the bulb? The line is grey with a pinkish/purple solid line. There is no writing at all on it. This is the same line that runs everywhere under the Cowling. The motor is a 2006 Yamaha 150 four stroke. I'm not having any issues, just thinking about preventive maintenance.

I was told that the hose with the red stripe on my 2007 rig was not EPA compliant. So, I replaced it with the blue line which is compliant. Cost was about $25 for the line and $25 for the new compliant bulb (inc tax).

You could cut an inch off it and inspect it. Then decide for yourself.

I cut a couple inches of the line off and looked at it, it looks like new black rubber on the inside. I guess i'm good for now.

There is a fuel filter on the motor? Prolly clear. If there is yellow ish stuff in it ....
    its from bad lines.

    Jason,
It is my understanding that Mercury has "compliant" fuel line everywhere except on the line from the bulb to the motor. Approx. 24" of fuel line.

When I replaced the fuel line on my 5 year old boat with the new line from Ranger Boats, I cut the old line in half and inspected it. I could not find any sign of deterioration or other problems. It looked like new on the inside and outside. Over the years I've done every thing I could to use non-ethanol fuel so I guess that's paid dividends. Apparently those boaters that have experienced problems with buildup in their fuel lines from using ethanol must not have had access to non-ethanol fuel and have been using it for a much longer period of time than I have.

Its really hard to find around here, I can only think of 1 marina that you can get ethanol free. Here in the Corn belt all you hear/see is ethanol ethanol ethanol

Boaters are very unhappy with ethanol fuel, but the corn farmers are dancing in the streets

I'd replace any questionable grey line and the primer bulb before problems start. And screw EPA compliant, you want manufacturers ethanol resistant hose. The EPA is what got us in this problem!

Actually its the dealer installed gray lines that got us in trouble !the hose from the tank to the primer bulb is ok. The line from the rigging nipple is ok,to Motor. So if the dealers when the boats were actually rigged had used a Ethanol resist line we wouldn't have as many problems. Any Ethanol resist line will work. Why would the Motor co use lines able to resist E10 and also the tank lines usually also.the biggest problem is with the inner lining comming apart. So what were fixing is a problem with that type of fuel line. The new line doesn't have a inner liner. Maybe the future Motors will be E85 like my trucks for when E15 is everywhere !I got all my lines from DON WEED here on BBC in the Mercury Sec.

I just replaced mine. The old line was grey with red writing. When I removed it the inner lining was falling apart. I replaced my fuel filter and looked in the bowl of my 2003 225 opti. There was a lot of the inner liner in the bowl. The new line is grey with blue writing. took 30 min and replaced the primer bulb.
