here are my #'s first model E225FPLSIF sn#G04941238 year 10/2000,ok my earlier post explained the proplem I was idling back to the ramp about a mile at 2000rpm when the motor changed sound,sounded louder(weird)but seemed to run ok reved it up & contiued to ramp got to ramp shut it down it would not restart,ok check the plugs toady they were black,checked for spark ,none (the old way screw driver in boot to block ground) noticed the lift pump was leaking I heard this is a common proplem which causes hard starting which it has on cold start but it was not a big deal thought its just cold?turn key on to see if fuel pump runs it does but seems to stay on a while during power up,& does sound like its sucking air but why no spark does the computer need to see fuel pressure before allowing spark?I am a auto tech so I do know engine & computer fuel injected systems but have not worked on outboards.also how much does a lift pump cost I NEED TO FIGURE THIS OUT HAVE A TX SATURDAY PLEASE HELP WITH ANY INFO. will be indebted to you forever:)
