a friend of mine is looking at a 94 2003 with a 200 promax. what kind of speed could be expected form this combo?

Nathan (xb03fs) on here has the same setup and he is getting 83 and change out of his light and 81 or so with 2 people and a load. He does have a coned lower and a few other things done to it, I think. I would say a bone stock one upper 70's. Lee will be along shortly. He will know for sure.![]()

I think 200 promax have slightly higher compression and require 91 octane instead of 87 so it should run a hair better than I can until I cut my heads
Lee tells me there is 3 maybe 4 more mph with a 28 ET instead of the 26 and 27 quad ivs I am running....I also just ordered some gel from Bill at the facotry as my pad has quite a few sratches I hopefully will get around to filling in sometime this summer hopefully that will help some also.
Last year once I learned to drive I could hit 82 to 82.5 pretty much anytime I was buy myself, trollers batteries and fishing load one really good water the last day I had it out I made several passes between 83 and 83.9. It was on the limiter at well below the 83.9 best mark and just felt it was time to quite hitting the trim button
Last year with the 26 it ran 78/79 loaded to fish two people on the limiter every trip even before I learned to drive as well as I can now. I believe it will run 80 loaded to fish (I just ran 82 several times two up in cool weather, light load, troller and batteries and 3/4 tank) with a new to me 27 OT at about 6400 rpms, I believe it will run 85 by myself this year once I get it dialed in. Just gotta get on the water
I am sending my 26 X-OT to todd to get some pitch added as it feels like a better loaded prop even though the 27 OT is going to kick its but unloaded by a wide margin in accleration and topspeed
The X-OT requires more steering imput light it seems as the OT requires almost none light, the OT required a bit of imput loaded but it X-OT drives easier loaded... these are my personal observations....so the plan is to get the X-OT to run 80/81 in the summer head loaded two up instead of 78/79
The OT kills the X-ot in acceleration one up loaded
My XB2003 with 200 Promax ran a best of 88.7mph with a 28 ET, light load.
My best speed with the 200 with was 87.5 spinning a 26 et cut chopper to 6700 rpm's. It would run 84 loaded with just me and all my Tackle, full tank, etc...........
Ran 82 same load just with 2 people.
P.S. my motor was a carbed engine so it had no rpm limiter. I could turn it harder than the EFI guys. I think that is why my speeds are better with a 26 pitch prop.![]()
