    update.

Well gang, all I can say so far is thank you for all the information everyone has help me out with. I will try to continue the updates, as some many people helped me to make my decision on this boat and joining the family.

Thursday and Saturday were spent fishing. Riding took a back seat to catching, but, I will say. Spot hoping is a lot more fun in this boat. I really like the ready rod storage, and the ride is still great. The lake was really busy on Saturday. I guess all the 50 plus foot cruisers decided to de winterize and test the same day. Wave traffic was horrible. Lots of them I had to slow to an idle. But once evening set in and it was time to run back to the dock. Run I did. I had a full fishing load, and my buddy who weighs prolly 220 and 70 was pretty easy with out any side to side rocking. And when it did start to chine walk with me, I stayed with it as long as I could trying to get the feel of how much input is needed from the wheel.

The 27 trophy did not like coming out of the hole, it took a good long while till it slipped, but once it did, it was fine.

I find I am not as scared or nervous when it starts to walk with me, I just stay with it as long as I can, then just trim down and start all over. The runs are getting longer and longer.

Today will be a good fowl weather test. It is raining here and has been off and on, but the fish are still killing it. I am looking forward to seeing how well the pro sport keeps the rain off my face at speed. I always had a helmet in the other boat. I don’t think I will need one on this one.

    Good fishing

Save some gas for thursday/friday, I might make a return visit. I forgot how many holes were plugged in that trophy, was that the same prop you had on when I was there?

    William,
Don't be affraid, but respect the potential of this boat. Soon 70mph will feel like nothing and 75 will feel exciting. When you get her up on pad and the hull clears the water, that is when the real fun begins. Be safe and enjoy the learning curve. It took me between 10 and 15 hours to learn, I was a little fustrated at first but took the advice from guy's like Duane Harper and Lee Sanderson and Rob Shaw and soon it was smooth sailing. I wish I could do it all over again because learning was the most fun.

    Re: update. (The Whip)

Well the fishing turned off a bit yesterday. Did manage to put three keepers in the boat, but it was tuff. It was great to be out on the lake in pouring rain because no other “idiots” where out there. I basically the lake all to myself. I only saw on other boat, a tin boat, and heard one more way off in the distance.

I spent the last 45 mins of light just driving. The complaining I did yesterday about my prop was not a problem this time out. Same load, same buddy. I don’t understand the difference. But it came out of the hole great.

There was a nice wind chop, and at time white caps. It made for a fast ride. I have a new top speed of 73.1 and I was able to hold it there for quite a hold time. After listing to some of advice given here, I am sure I was over driving the boat. There is a lot left to be had above 73.

I did not need the helmet. The more time I spend in the seat of this beast, the more I like it. I find myself wanting to know how the boat looks as I am driving it. I would like to see how much boat is out of the water, how high or low the bow is, how high the roster tail is, all that stuff, but right now I have to concentrate too much to to worry about that junk.

Uni, I wont be free till Friday, and the weekend. I already have plans for Thursday. Plan on the water being dirty. The main lake was still clear yesterday, but the rivers have a distinct mud line that is push toward the main lake. Oh, and I still don’t have a phone yet.
