    New Allison Owner

    Hello,

My name is Nick and I will soon be taking delivery of a new bassport pro. I need a prop to get it going Darris is recommending a 27 trophy pre x7 alloy. Anybody know a source where i might find one I would prefer new. all of my current props are for a skeeter and not applicable in this application.

    Re: New Allison Owner (ndh78)

Sorry to say I recently sold a 27P Trophy Plus that may have been pre X7 alloy. I'm sure they are the newer ones like the Fury. Here try this link:http://mercuryracing.com/propellers/...ustomizing.php Near the bottom of the story is a guys name who is really great to talk to and will provide you with info. His name is Scott.

And what Paul just said....."CONGRATS"!!! Taking delivery of a BRAND NEW?? boat?? You need to put up the pics on the dash and the front bow panel if it has the new and improved version with the room in the dash for a HDS10 and the power pedestal for the electronics for the bow.

I will put up some pics after I get it. Nancy and Darris want feedback also on the updated features but i promised I would wait to put up pics till they get the patent finalized. Mine is the first 2011 built (white/red/black). Going to have a 250 SHO w/sportmaster tweaked by Wayne and the gang.

AWESOME. You will definately have some people wanting to know how that sho runs. The Hydrotec boys couldn't find you a prop? Have you tried looking on the props for sale board here, Allison owners, and Fastbass?

    Re: (RoadrashPaul)

Awesome...anxiously awaiting those pics! I'll look around for some old Trophy's. Despite what most will say on the Allison owners site, a worked Trophy really is the best prop for these boats. I will add that a modified Fury has been working quite well for me this year. I have a 250XS with a Robbie Patterson modified gearcase, Eric Simon flywheel and Eric Simon ECU.

If you can find an old Trophy, I recommend it you contact Robbie Patterson at Propeller Dynamics (www.sandersonpropeller.com).

    Re: (RobShaw1)

I would pick a Bravo 1 XS over a trophy in a second! I've not ever ran a Robbie Patterson Trophy though. I've ran a ton of props and I love the Bravo XS's. I also have BasSport Pro with 250XS.

The only source for props IMO is Hydromotive Engineering!

Hey Nick, yours was the one I saw back in August when I visited the first time. I just saw it saturday when I picked mine up, it's looking good! The analog gauges with the red rings look pretty cool. It's awesome that you live pretty close to me, we'll have to get together and compare notes.

As far as the new electronics go I think everyone will be blown away. The pedestal is one of the most ingeneous things ever! The entire thing is just a model of near perfection from the design of the pedestal itself to the way the unit recesses into a hole that's precision cut so that there's no movement at all. Darris wasn't even satisfied with the gimbal mounts from humminbird/lowrance so he had special low profile ones made to get the unit down perfectly into the new bow panel. The new dash panel is awesome too. I went with humminbird 997 and 1197s and they look fantastic in both locations.

Re: New Allison Owner (Duane Harper)

I agree Hydromotives are very durable and fast. I have ran a hydromotives all year 0 cracked blades, I ran a 24 trophy for a ski prop and it was cracked within 4 hours of use one granted it was a bought used though..........

I would pick in this order on my smaller rig

    hydromotive
    hoss hyperdrive
    Bravo
    TXP

then whatever else you want to try and then

Trophy the trophy will run very well until it cracks or wose case throws an ear

    Re: New Allison Owner (RobShaw1)

With my BasSport Pro, Ive ran several Trophies with no failures. My Hydromotive Quad IV X-OB was well made but did not work for me(wrong cut evidently). Ive ran Trophy props on dozens of boats including 2 different models of Allisons with no failures. Guess I'm just lucky...

I understand Hydromotive is working on a new design...I'll be certain to give it a run when available.

    Re: New Allison Owner (ndh78)

Hi Nick Congrates on the new ride you will love it. I have learned a lot from Rob Shaw and Duane Harper. I have a Pro with a 300XS. My first prop was a 25 Trophy from a prev boat. It was fine to learn on for the first 10 hours. My second prop was the Bravo 1XS 29p. Great prop overall but I needed extra PVS holes to help me get up with a load. This fall me and Craig (allyfishing) took a road trip to see Todd at Hydro. Prop tested all day and ended up buying the 28 O/B. Was very happy with overall performance with a TX load 2 guys great hole shot, great midrange and 90mph. With that SHO 27p Bravo 1XS maybe a 28p Bravo 1XS would be very good. But the Hydro would be perfect. Manny.

    Re: New Allison Owner (RobShaw1)

I've got a hydromotive waiting in the box to try since both Todd Morgan and the boat in the trailer boats magazine seemed to have good results. All I can do is try, a Bravo I XS sounds promising as well. Mine will be a SHO as well.

Rob I wish you were around too to check it out and further educate me. Here's the deal on the e-ped. When I got there they had a version of it installed on my boat. Darris and Todd showed me how it all works. How the cables route, how the locks work so you have two heights above flush to chose from, how it installs etc. The final version is not complete but will be like the version I saw only made of different materials. So when completed they will send it to me to put on. It's only 4 bolts and routing and attaching the cables to the 1197. I believe the patent process is complete so pics when I get it installed shouldn't be an issue. They said that once it's finalized and Darris is satisfied that it works, the website will be updated.

    Re: New Allison Owner (RobShaw1)

Rob, I have your Allison Cut Trophy Plus 27P modified by Robbie and it is a great prop. 4 tenths of a second slower than a 28P QIV-OT 28P. Do you see what I see on the last sentence?? 27P vs 28P and only 4 tenths of a second slower. Hmmmm!!! Hole shot will be better once I close off the other 2 holes with solid plugs but the way it is with 2 blocked off and two with the small plugs and it jumps on plane and pulls real strong and drives real nice.

I will not let that prop out of my hands (not for sale), however, what I will do is allow the new guy to try it if he likes to determine if he would want an Allison cut Trophy Plus!!

And yes, the break it ya bought cliche does apply!!

Seriously though Nick, if ya want to borrow a prop or two I have no problems with that. If interested I'll give ya a run down on what I got and if something floats yer boat, I'll send it to ya. The guys here are great and we are family.

    Re: New Allison Owner (AllyFishing)

If you're like me you will probably find out every prop you try is within a 2-3 mph top speed range. As long as they are the right size everything I've ran is close to the same speed. The Bravo 1 XS for me has better holeshot with good midrange and competitive top speed and drives good. I also liked the way the pro et's drove but my holeshot when loaded was bad and they lasted an average of two months and then they became three blade props... I may look at Hydromotive again when the new prop comes out. I would also consider another X-OB if I could get it with the shortened hub like the Bravo XS. Of course with Christmas coming my funding isn't up for buying anymore props.
