just bought '93 150 johnson

i just bought a '93 ranger with a '93 johnson faststrike 150. this is the biggest and newest motor i've ever owned. never had one with oil-injection.

any tips on keeping it running good???

what oil would ya'll recommend?

any fuel additives i need to use periodically ???

Yes sir, Decarb that baby once a year use xd-50 oil and a little Bomb carbon guard wouldn't hurt!! Recommend Champion plugs gapped at .030 tight. The guys will tell ya which plugs to use!! Happy boatin'!!

Is the XD-50 oil synthetic or petro???

What gear lube would you recommend?

The xd-50 is semi-syn
The gear oil should be Ultra HPF avalible at your local Bomb dealer!

if the guy that i bought from has been using straight petroleum oil, will it be OK to switch to to XD-50???

i'm gonna ask what he's been using, forgot to ask when i picked it up.

If what he's been using is a j/e product then yes you can if another product i would run it low and then clean it out and switch!
