Sometimes I just scratch my head and fight the urge to reply...

I suppose I should be used to it BUT... The posts of how horrible Allison's ride in rough water get under my skin way worse that any speed debates ever have. Especially by those who are "in the know" because they once rode in one

Its really silly to let it bother me even for 1 second...but some days it does.

Darth, its like arguing with someone on the opposite side of your political party. Their mind is made up without any personal experience and they rely on heresay.

I do not personally know any other person that owns my Allison model and I know a good deal of bass fisher people. I cant say the same for any of my previous brands...

After owning just about every well known brand, I will never own anything other than an Allison, Stroker or Bullet. The unknowing will think that someone that says such a thing is only interested in speed and is not a true fisherman. Well...its about quality and attention to detail and I'm looking forward to fishing the B.A.S.S. Fed Fall Classic on Smith Mountain Lake out of the same boat that I used all season to qualify for this next step.

I feel you on this one... What gets to me even more is when they judge a brand and say the ride sucked yet they spent a total of 10 minutes driving time running accross the lake and they were not even the ones behind the wheel. A lot of people forget the fact that just because a guy ownes a boat does not mean they know how to properly drive it under conditions...

I had a guy (triton owner) tell me that my boat was made only to go fast. I told him NO its a bass boat and would fish just as well and had more room then his triton. He said but its a go fast boat. I said no its a bass boat that will run fast. He refused to use the words fishing boat, bass boat, fastboat in the same sentence. You just can't argue with some of these brain dead SOBs

    Rob is right.

No boat compares to an Allison on any level. The engineering, materials, and hydrodynamics alone have taken years to perfect.

I wonder if i am just as bad......... I have not yet had a chance to ride in an Allison..... but i want to badly..... I hope to buy an 03 next spring...... Yet, i tell everyone about how well they are built, how well they handle etc...... though it is only based on what i read and what i feel...... And then i look at the hull on a boat that is lifted way up..... and it kind of goes along with the common sense thing..... Look at that hull, and compare it to a cookie cutter boat........... i mean it looks painfully obvious to me that it will cut the waves better and land softer by cutting into the water and also, because more of the boat will cut through the waves, it won't go up as high...... Course, these are just guesses based on some of the picts i've seen............ Wish one of you guys was closer...... Though next month, i am going to be fishing Kerr for the weekend series..... I am guessing that's an hour and a half or so from Lee's........................ So, Lee.............. What are the chances of getting a ride?????? And perhaps changing someones opinion of the rough water ride on the allison?????? My buddy and is new Triton...... his 2nd new one in 3 years........ needs a lesson :)

    Dan,
The chances are very good, just don't tell me it is on the weekend of Oct. 11th, I have a race in Jasper, Tn. that weekend but on second thought I bet I could have Robbie get with you if this is the case. It's probably better if your Triton buddy didn't ride in an Allison, he may throw rocks at his new boat. And yes we do give Triton driving lessons.

    Darth,
I know what you are saying, I've been hearing it for years, then when you confront the person by asking them who they rode with it's always a friend of a friends first cousins brother inlaws, well you know what I mean. But the rough ride thing has to be true because they said so. I just think that jealousy is a terriable thing, they can't come up with any other flaw so they must ride rough. Yea right.

Lee, the 10th and 11th................................ I do have to admit his TR20X2 handles the waves much better than the TR20X, but............... but he still doesn't understand!

I am probalby coming down on the 9th i would guess......... not even sure if there will be time, but of course i will try!

    Probably should stop by anyway!
