I saw a sign at the pump last night that said "can your boat use Ethonal?". Made me think will my 1992 Fast Strike handle the ethonal that they are mixing in the gas?? Anyone know the answer?
Thanks,

10% is ok on the johnny rudes, but some issues have been known with the older rubber lines in the boats. The gurus will give us some more insight.
Take a look at your intake manifold gaskets and the carb side cover gaskets. If they are black, you have to replace them. If they are brown rubber or a reddish color, they are OK for alcohol laced fuels.

They are brown so I quest I am ok. Thanks for the info.

The marinas are posting it on all of the pumps here. It may be a posting requirement here.
So far we have seen some fuel issues but most of it is due to the dirt already in your fuel tank. 10 Micron filters are what we are recommended to be used. The 502906 DI filter is a 10 Micron already.
What we have been doing is replaceing the anti-sypon valves with a 3/8 ID, viton seal, shut off valve to reduce the fuel system vacuum & stay USCG compliant. Then we install a Auxilary 10 micron filter (Racor) in line. (Boat side)
One other thing is that we are removing screens out of the pickup if they have one. (so the filter collects the crap and can be discarded between changes)
A anti-syphon valve and a 10 micron filter sometimes causes a vapor issue. That is why the shut off valve is used. Viton Seal because of the ethanol.
