Congrats Rob!
You'll like it more every time you take it out.
Lee, I need to come see you. Im running a 26 Chopper right now and also have an Allison cut Trophy that Ive yet to try. Not sure that the 26 Chopper is the best prop, the motor really revs getting out of the hole.
Rob, Lee is the expert here but that is one of the differences on these type of boats. I'm really over my head here but I think the over the hub exhaust allows the prob to slips until it gets underway. The Allison is much different than any other boat I have owned. It did take a little getting use too, but all the other performance boats(real ones) do slip the prop on take off.
Rob,
A 26 Chopper can be modified to have a good holeshot but it will be on the rev. limiter pretty quick. If the Ally cut Trophy is a 26P it will work very well for you, just be careful with the trim, it takes a little more speed for the prop to hook up once you're on plane. The holeshot will be great.
Lee, are you a Hamby dealer/installer? Im interested in the 8' Hamby mounted just below the bow eye.
Rob,
We only install Keelguard brand, we have been installing them for years with great results. The Hamby is great but a little too intense to install for me.
nice boat Rob stop long enough to fish yet? gpat

I've never been In a Basscat, but I had a 19' ChampioN ("Ride and decide")before I bought my XB21 and the Alli will out ride it over and over again...![]()
I've rode and drove a XB2003 in light chop and the ride of it is close to my XB21....
The ride of a Allison it totally different to me than other bass boats IMHO... You sit farther foreword in a Alli, so there is virtually no "JAR" in the rough stuff...
A person really needs to go for a ride in one to get the full explanation...

Daryl, sorry for the delay. I try to get back to Springfield every chance I get...just cant get Springfield Cashew Chicken everywhere ya know! Just so happens that my Doctor onboard my ship (USS CARL VINSON) is Cdr Wing Leong. His Dad owned Leong's Tea House in Springfield where the cashew chicken recipe was invented. Small world.
Ride comparison between Allison and a BassCat Puma - Ive owned a lot of bass boats and to date, the best rough water riding boat Ive ever had was a 96 Stratos 201 Pro XL. With that said, BassCat is an exceptional boat with unmatched customer support, however I was never overly impressed with the rough water ride. Ive not had a whole lot of seat time in this Allison yet but I can say that it cuts through the chop smoother than the BassCat due to the length of the vee. Obviously, the XB2003 has more limitations due to the lack of free board, weight, narrowness, etc. but Ive never enjoyed driving a boat as much as I do this one.
