OK...the old house has sold and it's time for a new toy. Since there are no F-23 MOODCRAFTS for sale on this planet, I was thinking about an XB2003 / 225 VMAX combination
What's the thoughts on this combo compared to a 225XS in respect to reliability and fuel mileage ????
Would an XB2003 with a 225 VMAX and OPTIMUM top-end setup be capable of reaching the century mark ????

In my opinion the 225xs is pushing the limits on the back of an XB-2003, (weight not HP) there are some here that are going to disagree. A 225 VMax or any 3.0L Mercury is over the edge, way too much weight, this boat was not designed to carry this much weight. The only new engine that is available from the manufactures @ this time for a 2003 is a 200xs, it has solid mounts & a nose coned low water pick up Sport Master lower unit designed to run in the 80's. The 200xs will run it 82-85 mph with 2 anglers & their gear. To answer your question, no, the 225 VMax will not run tripple digits on this boat, find a used or stowed away 2.5 efi 280, that will do it.
