    Props

I ran a 27 Allison cut Trophy last night on my XB2003/225X. The hole shot was sluggish and when the bow came down, I got a lot of blowout. I had 2 small plugs installed and the other 2 holes were completely open (inserts removed).

For top end, I could get it up to 80 at 6400 rpm before I started feeling uncomfortable and had to trim down.

    Am I getting close?

How would a 25 FNR work on this rig?

    Re: Props (RobShaw)

Rob, I have the same boat and motor combination and have run the following best speeds with one person, full tank of gas, and some fishing gear.

    25 Trophy - 82mph
    26 Trophy - 86.5 mph
    28 Ally cut Chopper II - 93.5mph
    28 Merc ET - 90.1mph
    30 Merc ET - 95.9mph

All of these speeds are into the limiter. Most of these speeds only drop a maximum of 1-2 mph when another pretty good sized person is added. I have not run a 27 Trophy or any of the FnR props yet. Hope this helps some.

    Hey Rob,
I thought you had a 26 Ally cut for some reason not a 27, I don't think the 27's worked very well as compared to the 26's, not enough blade area. A 26 F n R would work great if we can ever get the foundry to build them to our specs. In the mean time, try a 26 stock Trophy, you will be very pleased with it's performance as an all arround fishing, playing prop. As Catfish listed, the ET is the best for all out running but is a little tender for serious fishing.
