First time in 30 plus years.......

Well it happend today for the first time in over thirty years of fishing. Kicked a almost new Dobyns/revo combo over the side and turned to try and grab it. In I went.... Good thing was water temp is 71-73. Bad thing was I had my damn droid in my pocket, done for sure. I can realy see how so many people pass away in colder water, because even though it wasnt realy cold it still took my breath away for a couple of minutes until I got to the ladder on the back. My 7 year old son was with me and it REALY scared him. Made me think a little bit today about going by myself anymore....MM

I fell in about 3 weeks ago stepping off the boat onto the dock and it scared me pretty bad. That was my first time falling in and hopefully my last. I learned a valuable lesson and also lost most of my wallet contents and cell phone.

Did you get a hold of the rod? Last time I kicked a rod out I didn't actually kick it out I just dropped it when one of my dogs on her first trip in the boat decided to try out a crankbait for a chew toy...luckily I fished it out of about 15 foot of water....new revo sx on an allstar 7 footer....glad you made it back in the boat...

Glad the only thing that got hurt was the Droid.

When fishing alone, I wear one of those inflatable PFD waist pouches. My wife bought it for me for that purpose so I wear it. The only time I notice it is when I reach down to pick up a rod and the waist pouch gets in the way of my big belly.

Almost forgot, Yep I got the rod!! Somehow the line from the rod caught on the trolling motor and the tube I was sight fishing with hung on the prop. Got lucky for sure! MM

This is why I always take my wallet, phone, and truck keys out of my pocket and put them in the console glove compartment.

Glad everything worked out for you.

Remove battery and anything else from your phone that can be removed. Let it sit out and dry. The thing will work again once dried out, just don't try turning it on for a few days.

Put in bowl full of rice....the rice will absort all the moisture....my ex girlfriend had a iphone 3g and kept dropping it in the toilet when going for a leak....Like Cabela said...don't try to power it or your going to create a short.

Wait 3 days in a warm dry place with phone buried in rice.
