    Veritas problems anyone?

Let me start by saying that I loved the Veritas rods they are extremly light and sensitive..BUT am I the only one that has experienced a problem with the Veritas standard guide casting rods. I've owned 6 of them and had to constantly return them to Bass Pro for the ceramic guide inserts just falling out or the guides just breaking off. After making about 4 or 5 returns in 6 or 7 months I just got so pissed that I just had bass Pro pull all my receipts and I returned all of them! Then I replaced them with the Vendetta rods and so far I love em! Im wanting to try the micro guide series Veritas I bet they will be better. Has anyone had similar problems?

    Re: Veritas problems anyone? (kjp105)

I have two of the Veritas rods, and one of them is missing a guide, which will hopefully be taken care of this weekend. The other Veritas rod has not yet had a reel installed on it.

The one I've been using seems to be, just as you said, quite light and sensitive...particularly at the price. I didn't realize anybody else was having the same problem as me, though.

Same here, love the rods I still have one but I won't be buying another. Both mine broke in the exact same place 6 to 8 inches above the reel seat on a hook set. Now I'm known for setting the hook, but the Veritas is the only rod I've had trouble with

The reel seat on my 7'6" has come loose and you can turn the blank with the handle. That's been my only complaint.

I have 7 casting rods and 2 spinning combos and haven't had any trouble with any of them. I heard the first run of veritas rods had problems with breaking near the tips but I think they fixed that.

Yea I had one break up toward the end about a foot down on a hookset also. But big PROPS to Bass Pro (Nashville) the customer service there was excellent! The lady at customer service told me she had seen several of these Veritas casting rods come back for similar reasons. Maybe just a bad run of rods I dont know. But I hope the folks at Abu Garcia got the problem fixed cause I would love to replenish my rod stock with the new Micro series Veritas.

I have 4 of them one broke right in the middle on a hook set, first time I used it!! Going to send it in tommorow. Hope I don't have any more issues with them, seem like decent rods, at a good price.

    Re: Veritas problems anyone? (kjp105)

I have 4 veritas casting rods and 1 spinning rod. I had a guide break on one of the casting rods. I exchanged it over the counter at my local sporting goods store. The only problem I see with the rods is the guides are not rod box friendly. I bought stick jackets for mine and now I don't have to worry about snagging the guides when I take them out of the box.

Talked to someone at Bass Pro who had one break so he sent it in, and they sent him 2 rods back. But, then both of those rods broke in the same spot.

    Re: Veritas problems anyone? (jdskeeter)

A little over a year ago, I got some of the verdict rods from a dealer to try out.
I broke every dang one of them. EVERY ONE!!!!!????
I broke one on a hookset, not even in deep water or on a big fish. Maybe a 3lber.
The other two broke later. One when fighting a fish, the other o an cast with a 7/16th jig.
I told the dealer to think seriously about the quality of them. He offered to replace them, just told him to get them warranties and sell em, I didn't want them anymore.
