I not 100% sure but unless that person is armed with a "Lethal Weapon" I'm not sure you are authorized to use Deadly force.

I'd have trouble believing that any state would allow someone to shoot an unarmed person just because they're getting the crap beat out of them. Pretty sad if there are states that allow that.

If they are in fear of losing their life it's justifiable in many states.

Al that's where the water gets pretty murky. If someone is getting beaten and as DixieDog said, is in fear of getting killed, then lethal force is justified. Here that's justified but is determined by a grand jury.

Actually, when taking the course for my concealed carry license I was taught that if you are threatened with physical force, you can use your weapon. Im not saying that it should be used, just was taught that. However, YOU ARE NOT taught to start a fight, get the crap beat out of you and then use your weapon. You are taught to avoid the situation.
