I throw mostly 1/8th ounce jigheads on mine with swimming flukes. Most people I see throwing them have a weighted jighead of somekind on each hook, but the only limitation on the A-Rig is your imagination

I through a 1/2 oz a rig also. I like to texas rig the baits so they will not get hung up as much. I bought some 1/8 oz crimp on swimbait weights from Bass Pro and attach them to the shank of the hook to make sure the bait runs vertical and does not spin.

If you are not fishing around brush or trees, the jig head will work just fine.

I throw mine with 1/16 oz jig head with gamagastu hook made by a local takle store. I also use the Net Bait 4" shad. I make my own A-Rigs so the only weight of mine, is the weight of the wire & swivel. I can fish mine deeper or with minumul effort keep it right under the surface.
