I'm about to take a beating with this post,But,,,,,

After the Dale Sr. post, I have to say that I'm not a big fan of NASCAR and probably never will be, because real racing has more than just a left turn, If you want to see real racing, check out the super bikes! Now that's a real race to the finish! I will admit there's a strategy to driving in a circle.

I will agree to a certain degree, I do like to watch Nascar on the road course. My favorite though is The World of Outlaws, just went to a race in So. Cal. 2 weeks ago......those things are crazy!!!

Nascar used to be real racing, left turns or not. Closest thing to what real anymore is the local dirt track, or drag strip where big money is not involved.....Nascar has gotten away from what made them pure. There's nothing about one of those cars anymore that's stock nothing. Each is made from a template issued by nascar to make things even. Used to be which brand made the best car, now its which team makes the best engine and car and whichever brand they decide to call it....still the best series in racing as far as im concerned though...

I use to love nascar back in the 70's and 80's when the body of the cars actually came off the assembly line.

As stated above...it's a "team" thing now.

While I still enjoy it now, I will say I can't stand the "team" mentality when on the track. Nascar used to be more of an individual sport than it is now...

Everything is affected by the evolutionary process though. Even in bass fishing. Though it's still "individual" in appearance, no matter who wins or where they win, we'll always talk about the "help" they got...or at least the help we think they got.

Imagine if NASCAR ran a race where there was no communication with the crew until a driver pitted...that's how it was in the early years...

yes, 90-120 thru trees sideways and never the same turn twice. That takes big ole bizzallz. I dont know how the co-driver keeps from puking...
BTW- Colin McRae was to Rally what Earnhardt was to NASCAR. Both great losses of the primary face and voice.

If you think circle track racing is boring go watch a Dirt Late Model race and you wont think that again. 800 HP 2200 pound beasts going through the corners sideways turning left while their front wheels point right. 3 wide racing most nights and they are running within inches of each other while sideways.

    Re: (basscatcher89)

Ok so here's my response to drivin in a circle ain't racing......try doin it at 200 mph, 2 or 3 wide, with inches between you and death....its gotta take balls to do that, I don't care who you are....remember when Bobby Hamilton won Talladega a year or so after Earnhardt died, when he did his post race interview in Victory Lane, he did sittin down, leaned up against his car because he was mentally, and physically spent...

I agree 100%. I also like SX and MX. To me it is amazing to see how fast these guys/gals can make a motorcycle go either on the street or dirt. I do wish NASCAR would get back to it's roots. The cars today are so equal they can't even pass each other, or if they get in the lead they check out because of the "clean" air. I've gotten to the point where I DVR the race and fast foward through it watch for cautions and the last 10 laps. I can take a 3-4 hour race and watch it in 20 minutes.

Nascar is much better than several sports for several reasons. They show up every weekend and the stars don't hold out for more money. It is also the only sport left that unons have not screwed up! That should get some reactions. LOL!
