    Beretta 9mm jamming

Im no gun nut but I do own a few. I ve had my 9mm in the closet w/ a full clip for about 5 years. i took it out to shoot it today and it jammed on every shot. I dont remember it doing that befor. Did the full clip compress the spring too much or greese needed.....your thoughts...

If you are going to store the weapon for any period of time you might consider removing bullets from the magazine to take pressure off the spring. Also, did you strip it down and regrease the weapon before firing?

Sounds like a fatigued magazine spring.

    Re: (Bug88)

Probably be better to just replace the spring.

    Re: Beretta 9mm jamming (Bug88)

I'd tear it down...clean it and lube it. It could be the spring but if it's jamming all the time regardless of how many rounds are in the mag I'd say it's just running too dry.

You don't have a spare magazine around to see if it just the single magazine that is causing the malfunction and not the weapon itself?

It is the spring, a beretta will not jam for any other reason, I shot mine though the entire police academy and never cleaned it just to prove a point and I was shooting cheap reloads like black powder :lpowder and that gun never skipped

I think he already narrowed it down to the mag...
