Those early E-TEC problems and the fixes have been discussed over the past year or two many times on this forum.

BRP did not send out any notices due to none of the problems were life threating to the engine. Not all engines would show these problems. Most are application specific and is left up to the dealer if the customer would benfit from the update.

Thanks for the post...I have an early '05 ETEC 225 HO with no problems but have wondered if I should look for any modifications BRP made.

I have lurked opn this board for a year prior to buying my E-TEC and I for one haven't seen the links or threads on the discussion board mentioned above regarding these improvements, only for the guys that have had troubles....

Knock on wood.....mine has been problem free and not to the dealer once since I purchased it in April '05 The E-TEC is a very strong motor...I will be taking the boat and motor in for the first service this fall after tournament season is over for all this improved upgrades, and the safety recall on my Stratos Trailer
