It's been a few years since my dog passed away and for quite a while we just too heartbroken to get another. About a year ago we almost pulled the trigger on a puppy a BBC member had but my wife was scheduled for hip replacement surgery and the timing wasn't good for her or the puppy. Fast forward to today. A local shelter had a meet and greet with their dogs at a local fire station. There was a lot of puppies and young dogs available but one in particular caught our eye. He is a 2 year old yellow lab/Anatolian shepherd mix. He was rescued from a high kill shelter, not many people want to adopt a 2 year old dog. He was a little skittish but you could see something in his eyes. We ended up filling out the adoption papers and are hoping to hear back in the next few days. We are first in line so keep your fingers crossed for us.
