For those who have mounted an las2 transducer directly to the step, what size screws did you use?

I used six 1 1/2" SS washer head #8's. Pre-drilled and used Boatlife marine over/under water clear silicone.
IIRC, two 1/4" bolts!
I used the wedge/mount from Transducer Shield and Saver. Sealed with some 3M marine sealant.

6 - #8 x 3/4" SS screws with 4200 sealant
Same as Civicrr -- Except I dont think mine sits low enough, so I purchased a 1" thick x 12" long HDPE block (6 bucks from Mcmaster Carr) and amd going to fab up a spacer to work with the Transducer shield wedge
I bought a hole shot plate with LSS2 mount already on it for my Slidemaster jack plate from Unique Boat Products. It works great and I didn't have to drill any holes in fiberglass of my hull.

I only have a 6 inch plate so I don't think that will work with the 10 inch transducer. Do you have a picutre of it?

BTW, one of the reasons I went to the step mount is that the instructions say that for the Structure Overlay feature, the two transducers should be within 12". It might actually be more than 12" now but putting it on the JP would have been even further away.
