I have a desktop that is 12 yrs old, and a laptop that is 10yrs both are slow a you know what. I want to replace the Box of the desktop...... Where to look? and what to get. General computing, taxes, and web. Don't need any hyper game machine.......

On the fence for the laptop...........on getting an Ipad since its mostly for web surfing.

If you aren't a big time gamer and need a desktop fast.....go to Walmart and grab one....intel processor, 4 gb of ram memory, 300-500gb of disk space and you'll be tickled pink.. I have an iPad for web surfing and email...LOVE IT!!

Every computer will do what you need. Walmart will have a good price on a whole new system . Get a hp or dell. or look around online try tigerdirect or newegg. Newegg has some super prices also.

Buy a laptop from walmart and a wireless router to go with your cable or dsl modem. You'll be able to surf the net from any room in the house with the laptop and you won't break the bank!
