What model engine & when was the overheat?
How many hour on it when it was scanned?
Happens All The Time To SeaTow If Your In The Mud Or Sand. You Should Have Got A Chk Engine Light and the motor should have Went Into Slow When The EMM Overheated.
The DI engines have a watercooled fuel pump that can clog with sand or mud. It is easy to clear out, if you know how. If it happened a while ago in hours then the system may have cleared it's self. The fuel pump is in the path of the cooling water for the EMM.
The New ETECs have a different redesigned type of inner cooling core so it should not happen on a ETEC.
I would not be concerned if it happend a while ago in hours.
Dissregard My Bottom Painter Reference to the left, I changed My Profile When I Go Broken In.![]()
I just got it back for a 4000rpm throttle stumble repair. The emm overheat was at 11hrs.Its a new 50 etec. I picked up some grass awhile back. The motor slowed. Is that emm overheat?
The dealership needs to pull the gearcase and check the water pump, especially if it is a tunnel hull. Ask them to check the bulletin that may apply here, then call BRP. This may or may not be warranty, really up tp BRP. There is a bulletin on the inline 2 for the water pump. Too much air in the system will overheat the emm, the service bulletin addresses this issue.![]()
