    Stupid newer gas cans

Since the government has forced us to use the newer "safety" can, I've spilled more gas than when I used to use a jerry can and a funnel

I agree 100% those new cans really suck! Why is everthing that the so called environmentalists try to improve on always makes things worse or send us 180 degrees in the opposite direction?

I see this all the time: Soccer mom on the side of the hwy trying to pour fuel with cars zipping within 10' of her at 70mph+ while she is trying to figure the thing out...... BS. I'd bet I ran across that 4 times last year while on shift and we only have 7 miles of hwy in town.

Had to get one of these to get gas in boat without spilling all over. These things actually work great.

That's cool, I'm going to have to get me one. And yes these newer gas cans stink, I always spill some.

    Re: (250bassFL)

I gave up on the new caps pretty quick. I just use a funnel and take the cap off. The gas I spill is worth far less than the frustration of using the new cans.

Why is it that when our Gubberment does something to protect us from ourselves it cost more for less and lacks common sense?

Re: Stupid newer gas cans (Popeye)

Has anybody tried the 14 or 24 gal stand up type of cells? Do they work and are they worth the $$. Might be better than the 5 gal arm breakers. We fuel boats from the 5 gal cans (old style) and you have to be robotic to hold out from the boat when you are inside the boat and have a full 5 gal can!!

Get an Eagle brand metal gas can, problem solved., Made in USA, they are expensive but it will be the last gas can you will ever need.

I also have one of the 14 gallon "pump style". It would take 2 people to unload it from the truck, 14 gallons of gas should weigh about 85 gallons. The cheap plastic wheels on mine have been replaced with sturdier lawn mower wheels. Haven't used mine yet because of the weigth issue. Bought it from Home Depot when they were on closeout for $25.00. Couldn't pass that up, even if I just resell it.

On some of the new cans I have drilled out the inner stopper, now I don't have to push the nozzle down to get the gas out.

Me too I found mine floating across the lake one day. Must have blown off the beach. Had the fill tube and cap all ready to go.
