    Powder coated screws?

The screws that hold my windshield have pretty well wallered out the holes, so I need to go a size up. I've found the correct screw size in stainless, but would like to get them in black powder coat.

If I bought some black jighead powder coat paint and dipped the heated screws in it, would that do the trick, or would it be a wasted effort? Will the paint hold up against a screw driver, or does this require a different kind of paint all together?

I don't think that would work and it probably wouldn't hold up to a screw driver. The screws are stainless steel, so corrosion won't be a problem. If it were me, I would install the screws and then just paint the heads black or black matt.

That's exactly what I did; got windshield bolts in stainless; after installing, bought black touch up paint! Holds up great. And if you have to take them off.....just touch 'em up again.

I have some black powder paint, once you get it on the screws use some chees cloth or ducktape between the screw and the driver.

I have used spray paint and a small brush to do what u are trying; take a spray paint cap and spray the paint into it, hold at arms length so u don't breathe the fumes too much. Let the paint sit a minute or two, then dip the paint brush in the paint while it is still liquid. It may take a coat or two, but it works.
This is done after the screws are installed.

You can get stainless screws with colored heads at Lowes. In the bins where they sell the specialty screws.

Use some hinged cover plastic screw caps in black and it will give it a nice finished look.

You can get black plastic covers for screw heads. Normally in two pieces, one goes under the head and the cover part clips over it.

So, "wallered" really is a widely known word.
I think the new secret color is "A-Rig"..........
