The kind of guy Ed Metzger was

Back in '08 when I went to FL to have surgery, Ed and his wife drove 3 hrs one way to visit me and have dinner then drove 3 hrs home. This was the night before my surgery. Although I thanked him for doing that several times, I'm not sure he ever knew how much that meant to me. If he did that for me with just the small amount of time I was around him, I cant even imagine how many kind things he did for those who were lucky enough to spend alot of time with him. He really was a very nice person and I'll never forget it.

I never had the honor of meeting Ed, but from hearing about the things he did for others...he was a great man who will be missed.

Putting a clown in the castle doesn't make him a king, it turns the castle into a circus

Re: The kind of guy Ed Metzger was (egandy)

A couple of years ago, I went to J'ville for a couple of weeks. Carried the boat and the RV park told me I could not park it at the park, this after clearly asking twice before we left for FL. I posted a rant, Ed called me and offered to keep the boat at his house. Never had met him up to then, but tells what kind of guy he was.

Re: The kind of guy Ed Metzger was (craigs06)

I posted the story in the Fla forum before Ed passed, but for those that don't make it there, http://www.bbcboards.net/zerothread?id=780550 is a thread about something from a few years back. Ed was the first person I met from BBC, at a Waffle House on the way to a rally at the Harris Chain.
