Just shy of a month smoke free and I took my new bike for a 4 mile ride

Set out to do five miles but I hit the wrong button on m GPS app and I had to guess how far I had rode before I headed back. What a difference it was in only a month of not smoking! I have not been on a bicycle in years and clicked off a 13 MPH average over four miles without feeling like I was dying.

I bought a new fluid trainer for the house. Those sure have come a long way since my old wind trainer.

The only sad part of the entire deal was as hard as I looked I ended up supporting a local shop...great guy but the bike was made in Asia instead of the USA.

Has anyone with a bicycle come up with a way to carry a fishing rod? There are ponds all over these trails around here. I have a rack and was thinking of rigging a flag pole holder or something along those lines?

when i was a kid i would just throw some plano boxes in a back pack and put the rod across the handle bars...that was my life everyday after school and the weekends fishing the canals and river.

Actually in my younger days, I did. PVC pipe and hose clamps . I had a carrier on the back of my bike to hold a tackle box and 4 rod holders. At one time I also built a trailer for my bike to lug my fishing stuff.
