Do I have a Big block or a small block??

Just wondering if my outboard is a big block or a small block. No that it really matters but I was just wondering. If it is a big block what are/is the advantage? More torque?

Yours is a 3.0L block. The 3.3L is a more recent history thing.

"There's no replacement for displacement". The larger engine doesn't work as hard to produce the same power. Torque numbers run higher HP to HP on the big block.

Back then the small block was introduced as a 150& 175 the same year as your motor which is a 3.0L. In 2001 they came out with the 3.3 L block
