think ally only uses the dark side on their boats and the dealers only use them also
No they acually show an e-tec powered boat on their website.. I guess they can see the handwriting on the wall....SMG
I know someone that has a XB-2003 with a 225 E-tec HO, but I do not know what kind of numbers he is running. I was running 78 when he passed me like I was tied to a fence post.......
Not knocking Evinrudes, unless they have a different lower unit, like Merc's
sport master designed for speeds over 100 mph, and gear ratio of 1.62 and
solid motor mounts, I don't see Allison owners will be installing HO's even
though it's a strong engine unless there is a lower unit designed for that
kind of speed.

I believe this was an anomaly w/ the early ones. But isn't Merc experiencing problems w/ their shafts shearing? They both may have had to take a closer look.
Thankfully, mine is hauling mail w/o any problems.

Well apparently some of them are. I just think the ally e-tec is a good looking combo and very rare... Kind of the reason I bought my first Triton. But no such thing as a rare Triton anymore. Unless it's a 200xp...SMG
SMG, there's a dealer down near Russellville, AR that is an Allison dealer. My dad was in there about a month ago when we were down fishing at Lake Dardanelle. He said he's got 4, count em, 4 allison's with etecs!!!!!!!!I wanted to go see em too, but they were closed when I got off the water.

Russellville is about 45 minutes to an hour south of Harrison. I guess that would be the upper central area. I'll track dad down when he gets back to ask him the name of the dealer. 4 ally's with etecs would be a site to see!!! It's enough to make this poor boy cry!!!
I'd like a pic of all four of them running down the lake at sunset with well proportioned blonds and full livewells at about 99.9 GPS since it's not designed for over 100 mph....SMG
