I put one in a TR186. I had to cut the top wall of te rod lock to make it fit.

What brand did you go with? I have a tr176 and I want to put one in mine but don't know what brand of tray to go with.

Bille2, why did it go into the rod storage? What year is yours and what model did you use. I have an 03 and am looking at doing the same. How far back did you set it. Any pics would be great!

I have a 2001 TR 19 I wanna add a recessed tray to also. How do you trap in the drain line also? Kinda tight under there unless you are a skinny dude.

I used a Comfortroll in my TR18. I did have to trim the top of the
front storage unit to make it fit...but overall a great purchase.
I actually found one on Ebay a little cheaper....

Kingpin, can you post a photo from inside your front storage unit so I can get a better idea of what you did? I am wondering if I will still be able to get my 3700's out? They lift straight up on the 186

I'm at work now, but can post some later. Mine is far enough up that it does not interfere with any storage. I can easily store a row of 3700's across the front of the storage and then put some behind them. My tray is a good distance from my seat mount, maybe 12" or more if I had to guess. Since I have a smaller boat, I did mount as close the front as I could. I have a buddy that has a TR19 and did a similar install with no issues. In my boat, clearing out the cross member was the biggest hassle, and is shown in the pretty well in Fish TR19's link....

Also, I will say that I really like the Comfortroll and it's looks. The advantage is that it takes up less deck room where your feet are, with the rounded end. One thing I will say is that the square trays have a little more room for your feet to get over the pedal. The Comfortroll is a little more "precise" in where your feet have to go, because the radius sort of gets in your way from side angles. This is not a big deal and I would buy it again, but if you have extra big feet, stand at odd angles, or have the older style square pedals, you may want to consider the square trays. The disadvantage to the square tray is there is more room to 'fall or step" into.
