I cannot beleive they expect me to pay 16k in federal taxes. Yet my wifes little brother who makes minimum wage and has 2 kids gets back more than he pays in..................Unfricken believable! He doesnt care about anything muchless getting a great good paying job. Runs through life doing whatever he wants depending on his parents to bail his ass out. But, lets as a society reward him with tax money. Rant over....................
Try living on what he makes and get a refund..I think you'll prefer where you're at.

My point is he is irresponsible and doesnt care that he makes no money. I, on the other hand have tried to do the right thing. Got a good job, done whatever I needed to to keep it. Moved up thru the ranks towards a higher paying job. I have been responsible. I have been at my current postition for 20+ years. It has taken a long time but, I have moved up and make a very fine wage. But, its opnly because of the ssacrific, hard work that got me here. But, because of that I am to take care of those who dont give a shit about themselves because they know I will have to take care of them. Laugh all ya want...............jokes on you

I agree, that does seem a little high to have to pay back. Unless you work for yourself I can't see why it would be that high. Better find some more write offs...
Are you saying 16k total or 16k in addition to what you've already paid in throughout the year? If you're paying 16k additional then you definitely are doing well with salary, or your taxes are so e'ffed up you need professional help.

The "boss" says you need to pay "your fair share". Your :fair share" is $16,000 this year. other guys "fair share" is $0 and he will get a refund that you get to pay for.

Again, if its 16k total then its not bad, he's not getting rich at that level. If it's 16k in addition to what has already been paid, and he's not self employed then he needs to see an accountant.

The problem here is that he is getting more back than what he paid. In a fair tax system no one should get back more than they paid in. Also, you should never get a refund of everything you paid, because if you did, you didn't pay taxes...
It just goes to show how screwed up the tax laws have become over the years and that they need to be re-written.
