1991 Johnson 200 LE VJ200SLEID
I ran the boat earlier this month trying the new prop. While doing so I was adjusting the jackplate as well. Somewhere along the line I hit a small log and it clogged the lower water inlet hole on the leading edge of the lower unit. I ran the boat agian for a few days and did a few WOT runs. I just noticed TODAY that it was clogged. My water pressure was between 12 and 15 psi the whole time just not sure if it got too hot. My guage olny goes to 15. If it did get hot would the horn go off for an overheat?

That is the speedometer intake, mine has been plugged for some time.

Joe,
If you have one use a small air compressor and hook the tube up to the gauge line at the motor, disconnect the line at the gauge and turn the comp on and let it purge the line. hook the gauge line back up and run the comp and see if it goes over 15 psi. You may have some junk in the trunk .

For the speedo,Try a small drill, turn it in the hole by hand that works for me.

Thanks guys! "Junk in the trunk!!" I liked that one! I'lkl try that ChampioNman and pruge the line. Heading to NY tomorrow so I'l have to try it when I get back.

Straighten out a 1/8 Jighead......Will great................Barb will pull trash out and wire hook is small enough to go into the speedo tube.....Good Luck, Roger
