Is it true that a primer bulb should never be mounted with the arrow pointing downward? On my setup which is an 18' C-hawk center console with a 115 e-tec, I have two primer bulbs in the fuel line. The tank is located under the console above the floor. The first primer bulb is located about 18-20" downstream of the pickup on the tank, but is pointed downward. The second bulb is located between the fuel/water separator and the engine, and is pointed straight up. The bulb by the engine stays a lot harder, and the one by the tank (pointed down) will get much softer if i shut the engine down. I installed a temporary clear 3/8 tube right off the pickup to see if I was sucking air from the pickup. When running, there's no air bubble, but once I shut down, an air bubble makes it's way from the first primer bulb off the tank into the clear section of hose which is the highest point in the line. I have read that installing a primer bulb with the arrow pointed down will cause the check valves to malfunction. Can I just get rid of the primer by the tank all together?
Thanks
