    Congress is at it again

Don't know how many use Google but just in case everyone needs to take a look at this.

I've been advocating that since I first was old enough to vote, 45 years ago. Throw 'em all out, before they really figure out how to screw us over even more.

They know what's best for us and will make sure to tax the business allowed on the net to keep us safe.

I look for little to get passed this year, to many afraid for their jobs.

It's all about controlling information and it has been since day one. I said years ago when the government figures out how to control the internet they will. They'll have no limit on excuses for doing it either.

The race to the bottom continues

What is the purpose of these laws? What are they actually preventing?

The "purpose" is to prevent downloading of copyrighted material, ie movies and music. The bills are so vague, though, it basically gives the government the right to shut down any website it deems dangerous.

Before I "vote" on this petition (does anyone actually give a rats azz about petitions anyway?) Is there any more info on this besides google saying it's bad?

If things hadn't changed in this country since the 50s, there would be no need for all this..They did change and so will rules laws and whatever needs to be done to keep this country great. Figuring out which is good and which is not, is the hard part..

Craigslist is blacked out in protest as well. From what I gather it sounds like corporate lobbyists getting bills passed to make their companies more money. in this case shut down craigslist so you're more likely to go buy a new item rather than used.

Not real worried if the Government is the "road block" as they will put up the equivalent of a two lane barricade on a 12 lane highway and wonder why no one stops.
