Why ration health care in the US?
Lower the overhead in healthcare and every American would be covered for all medically necessary services, including doctor, hospital, preventive, long-term care, mental health, reproductive healthcare, dental, vision, prescription drug and medical supply costs. Patients would regain free choice of doctor and hospital, and doctors would regain autonomy over patient care. Employers and employees can work to offer they're "made in the USA products" to the whole world more effectively!

Its personal with me. I like to choose my own Dr., when and where i seek treatment, and the right mto die without any government involvement. Should u choose otherwise, I should not be mandated by the the government to pay your bills.

In a perfect world it works. Problem is when you feed the chickens you feed the rats (individuals who by personal lifestyle will never be provided enough incentive to afford care)too. If you cant get rid of the rats everyone suffers. Why ruin the best system in the world to appease the rats who already eat more than their share.

Germany the goverment tells you when and where you can go.. My Uncle has cancer and they will not do anything for him as he is to old. He is not terminal and can be treated. When he turned 60 his eyes were going bad and they said the same thing. We are trying to get him to come to the States for treatment but I think he has given up.

This is a tired old song and dance, from what I've observed in my short life. The masses want to blame the bottom feeders for their woes, but typically fail to see that the crumbs are falling from their own pockets.

Want change? Start with where you spend your money. Hire the american operated lawn mower. Sure, it might be more costly, but if you work him, he can afford health insurance, which saves you from paying for "the rats."

I don't even know if you use a lawn service, it was just a way to communicate my point.

I know people who are on assisted living, welfare whatever you want to call it. I guess once you arent embarresessed to be on it then you dont mind staying on it. I dont see some of them ever coming off of it. They have no drive to get a good high paying job with insurance. They are fine with staus qou. Some of these same people were on uninployment but, wouldnt go get a job because they were making the same thing to not work. Some may be in a bad situation and really want out and want to do better but, I think around at least half dont!

Reading that, I've already done my time and put up with what they openly recognize as socialized medicine with the VA.

I see no where in the article stating where the funds for Medicare or Medicaid will be funded. I assume they will be funded by the people using them and not my tax dollars. I seer nothing in the article stating how the unemployed or poor will pay for their insurance. I'm not going to pay for it. Making me do so would be unconstitutional would t it?

Doctors will be allowed to charge what ever they wish according to this article. They would love it.

Either the author is way off or those after "free" healthcare should move to one of the countries mentioned in the article. My guess is they want to stay in the greatest country on earth and gripe about the greatest healthcare system on earth.

Meanwhile I think I'll go pay cash again today for a civilian doc, still can't shake this cold and the VA is out to May on some appointments.

Gov't healthcare....VA is a great window to look into. Vets do receive good care there, but it takes a LONG time.

Example of regular non-emergency care there: It took me 3 years to get into the dental clinic. Finally I got an appt. A month after notifying me I was seen...xrays and see what was needed done. 3 months later, They replaced 2 fillings that was not priority. That was November. I have 2 whopper cavities that need attn. That is to happen sometime before April. April is cleaning. It is free care that I am very thankful for, but if this was with a private dentist, all this could be done in a week.

You do gov't health care country-wide and this is what it will turn into.

This comment could be straight out of a 1950's fiction. After the billions spent on the war on poverty since America has come a long way huh.

On the bright side we have the worlds richest poor people. They can walk into a government clinic or government funded hospital and be seen on any day of the week thanks to the rich greedy bastages you cuss.

So wanting to keep the money I earned is selfish? Poor people get medical care when they need it. Walk into the nearest public hospital emergency room any evening and see the lines of "poor" getting their free medical care.

So your answer is just to keep providing? What does that solve? Big part of the problem is that to many people enjoy the entitlements and are not motivated to help themselves.

go to the ER on any different day...at any different time. You will see the vast majority of people sitting here are ones who do not speak English, much less have any health insurance. Someone has to pay and the ones that pay have to pay 2-300% more to cover the ones that should not even be here. Add to that all the get rich quick lawsuits so the Dr's have to pay over 100K a yr malpractice insurance....you see the domino?

Let me make sure I got this right. So, your answer is to disenfranchise all poor people? Legitimate and leeches alike and let God sort em out? It seems to me that the greatest nation on earth should be able to do better than that. Lawyers and insurance companies are getting richer by the minute from that attitude. Your ins. premium and mine go up every time they get a chance and still over 50,000 of our fellow men die in this country each year for lack of proper medical care. That to me is a problem that needs to be addressed.
As for the folks I cuss; not rich people( I wish I was one). Greed, I'll cuss that until the day I die.
