Saw them with DLR in 1980, then with Sammy in 91. Good shows, but I'd rather party with Sammy any day. DLR seems like a jackass that didn't age gracefully. Sammy is like 87 now and still kicks ass

I know many will disagree, but I thought VH was a much better band with Sammie. They were a fun band to watch, and there seemed to be a much different chemistry among the members. Much different sound with him, and it seemed to be fit the style of the 1990's. I think I own all the Van Halen albumns with Sammie. I will still throw one in every now and then. Also like Sammies new band Chicken Foot.

Saw them in concert with both and the band seemed to have a lot more fun on stage with Sammy. A much better show IMO.

I think 5150 was a good album but after that, I think VH became insignificant. David Lee roth, was the drving force of true VH. All of the albums he did with them were great.

Imho, Sammy was the man, his voice and charisma took the band to a higher level. I can't stand DLR, but that's just me.....

This one (the intro, at least) is a must before a bass tournament or a morning when the turkeys are gobbling...



IMHO... DLR's primal scream has its place, but overall... better tunes with Sammy!
